Pride goes before a fall
This proverb warns that those who are proud are likely to meet their dow fall before long. Pride is a feeling of satisfaction and pleasure in what one does. This is justifiable within certain limits. But when it takes the form of overconfidence or arrogance it is bad. A person in such a state is most likely to attempt something which is beyond his powers. The result is a failure. Tragedies are stories of the suffering and death of men who are good in many ways but become overconfident. This weakness leads to their fall. Pride makes a person blind to his own weakness or limitations and also to the consequences of his action. Therefore, it leads to destruction. So the appearance of pride is an indication that the fall of a person is not far away. So such persons should take ahead and get rid of their pride in order to avoid downfall.
