Value of Time

Value of Time

Time is no doubt valuable. But we cannot say how valuable it is. Man has invented a clock to measure time but he has failed to produce anything by which he can determine the value of time.

A proverb rightly says that time and tide wait for none. Time can be compared to a stream that flows into an ocean or to a wave in the ocean. Both are not under the control of any power on the earth. Time passes without our knowledge. Hours, days, weeks, months, and years are the different terms used to refer to time. Some, particularly those who are happy and contented, think that time passes with them quickly. Some others, those who are unhappy may consider it passes slowly. But all the time, time maintains its usual phase.

Time can be considered to be more precious than the most precious thing. We should apply the art of doing things on time. Timely action on our part will save us from tons of worries. "A stitch in time saves nine" though only a proverb, is full of meaning. In whatever we choose to do we must make it a point to do it on time. Though there is no device that can determine the right time to do a thing, yet our instinct tells us when the time is right. A split second can cause a great change or harm in one's life.

Time like a stream of water is irrevocable. Time once lost is lost forever.  Though minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, or years may appear the same to us, yet its effect on us will not be the same.

Hence all of us should realize the importance of time and make proper use of it. We should not, when we come to the end of our lives, reflect over our past life and repent for the time which we have wasted. We should try to use every single second of our life usefully and make our lives worth living.
