Man Proposes but God Disposes

It is a part of human nature to think of the future, plan for it, and have ambitions and wishes about it. But certain conditions, which are not in our hands, have to be fulfilled if our plans are to succeed. If these conditions are not fulfilled our plans can go wrong. In such cases, we do not always know who or what is responsible for our failure. Some unknown power that guides everything, which we call god, determines the course of events. Human beings are powerless against this unseen power. The proverb serves to highlight the limitation of human endeavor.
